About Simple Pest Control
Simple Pest Control publishes free guides that help homeowners and renters identify pests, keep them out and choose treatments that work. We focus on the low-risk steps most people can take themselves, and we are clear about when a problem needs a licensed professional.
Who we are
We relaunched Simple Pest Control in 2026 under new ownership.
We are a publisher, not a pest control company. We do not perform inspections or treatments, and we do not sell pesticides or pest control products.
The history of this address
SimplePestControl.com first went online around 2009 as a collection of do-it-yourself pest guides written by a different publisher. That earlier site stopped publishing years ago, and the current owner acquired the domain in 2026. We have no connection to the original writers or company.
Some of the original guides still get links from articles, forums and how-to sites. We kept those addresses, such as /weevil-control.htm and /cockroach-control.htm, so the links still lead somewhere useful. We did not copy the old text. Every page was researched and written fresh against current sources.
How we write and check guides
Each guide draws on university extension programs, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state wildlife agencies and the National Pesticide Information Center. We list those sources at the bottom of every page so you can check our work. Read our editorial standards for the full process.
How the site is funded
Our disclosures page explains how the site makes money, including any referral arrangements with pest control providers. Money never decides what a guide recommends.
